1950 to be exact. That round grill was a 50-51 feature, and the 51 had a one piece wind
screen.

I found indications that sometimes the Studebaker bullet nose was converted to a headlamp via the aftermarket (and someone else said that it was designed that way to make it easy to switch over to compete with Tucker if necessary).
